Is seaweed good for you?
Yes – known as the superfood of the sea, kelp is rich in iodine, antioxidants, and essential minerals, supporting thyroid function, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall metabolic health. Gram for gram, dried kelp contains more calcium than milk and more iron than lean beef.
Where is Southern Seagreens based?
We’re native kelp farmers and Wakame hunters based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. We make specialty seaweed products for home cooks and supplying bulk seaweed to chefs.

Food Safety
We take food safety seriously. Our premises is registered for food processing with the Mornington Peninsula Shire and we test the water activity of all our products before packaging. We ensure a water activity level below 0.6 — a threshold that prevents the growth of bacteria and moulds. Hence our products are absolutely shelf-stable, safe, and of the highest quality. Note you should always keep our products stored in a sealed container in a cool dry place.
